Maths is everywhere
Students use Maths more often than they might realise. Percentages help us understand discounts and savings, ratios are used in cooking, and probability appears in everything from weather forecasts to games. By connecting classroom topics to familiar situations, we can help students see the purpose behind what they’re learning.
Physics explains the world around us
Physics is happening around us constantly. Driving a car involves speed, acceleration, forces and energy. Kicking a football involves motion and forces, while phones, computers and other technology rely on principles students encounter throughout Maths and Physics.
Even topics such as vectors have applications in engineering, navigation, computer graphics and modern technology.
Understanding, not just memorising
Exam practice is important, particularly for National 5 and Higher students, but we believe understanding should come first. When students understand what an equation represents and can connect it to something familiar, remembering how and when to use it can become much easier.
Making learning more enjoyable
Every student has different interests, so we try to make learning relevant to them. That could mean explaining Physics through football, acceleration through cars or Maths through technology.
